Candy Bowman
Veterinary Assistant
My name is Candy and I have been employed at Country Hill Animal Clinic since 1998. Not many people can say they enjoy their job and coming to work every day, but I can! I am married to my high school sweetheart and have two children. We live on 10 acres in the country and currently in the process of remodeling our entire house. I have 2 dogs, 3 farm cats and a horse. As a hobby, I assist with a few animal rescues by fostering and transporting pets. I am the assistant director of a therapy dog group called Human Animal Bond. I enjoy going to flea markets, fishing and spending time outdoors with my family and friends.
Kiersten Ahrabli
Veterinary Assistant
My name is Kiersten Ahrabli. I moved to Kansas from South Carolina late June of 2018. Although I prefer the beach, I’m glad I found my new family at Country Hill. I adore everything and anything that has to do with animals including exotics. Odis is my little crested gecko at home that has my whole heart! In highschool, I cared for many different kinds of snakes, geckos, turtles and even an alligator. My dream is to go into wildlife conservation in the near future to track different exotic breeds and analyze their reactions to environments. Besides caring for animals, I can be found skateboarding, hanging out with friends or on the lake when I have days off.
Elisa Vega
Elisa Vega, aka Elise, was born in Merriam, KS, and grew up all around Johnson County. At age three, she lived in the bay area of CA for a short time before returning to the Midwest to be close to family. Elise graduated from Blue Valley Northwest High School in 2016. In the fall of 2016, she began her undergrad in Biology and pre-vet and became a student-athlete at Johnson County Community College. Two years later, she transferred to Columbia College of Missouri to continue her undergrad and soccer career. After a knee injury and several years at the collegiate level, Elise had to retire from soccer to focus on finishing her undergrad. She plans to complete her undergrad at The University of Kansas. Elise has always wanted to pursue a career working alongside animals and wildlife. In August of 2021, Elise joined the Country Hill Animal Clinic team. Outside the clinic, she loves to spend time in nature, eating good food with good company, having a good read, going to the movies, and binging a good TV show. At home, Elise also has two snakes, Perri & Mak. A gecko, Momo. A bearded dragon, Loo, and a hamster, Romeo.
